Located halfway along Jomtein beach road, Jomtien beach night market is a popular evening hang out for Thai’s, expats, and tourists.
The market here is not as popular as the weekend end night market on Thepprasit road. However it is open every day making it a great alternative for those who can’t be here at the weekend. It is also very popular with the younger Thai’s and younger tourists.
The markets offerings are similar to those found at other popular markets. And you can expect the usual cheap clothing, wood carved products and fake goods. It is also a great place to pick up some beach wear such as flip flops and tourist style T Shirts.
The main reason Jomtien night market tends to attract a younger crowd is the loud music played from the large concert style speakers. As well as the many pop-up bars offering cheap cocktails and beers. Fruity pre-mixed cocktails and spirit and mixers can be bought for around 50thb each.
The market has a very jovial and relaxed atmosphere, and it sort of reminds us of a summer fate back home. Shopping really takes second place to the party vibe.
This is also a very popular place to pick up some extremely good value food, and there are more food vendors than traditional stalls. every manner of Thai, Russian, European and international food can be found here. Thai dishes such as Phad Thai, noodles, and stir fry’s start at around 40thb each. International food is a little more expensive as it is really on or tourist or wealthy expats. But it still extremely goof value.
The market is open daily from late afternoon, sorry we can’t be more specific as they operate “Thai Time”. Which basically means they open when they get here. But usually by around 17:00 / 18:00 most stalls will be open. Closing time again is a little vague but it starts to die down around 22:30.
